Default computer

Desperately need a need computer.
I have my old mac but it's outdated now and I don't feel that safe on it anymore.
Weird for me, but due to the cost I was looking at one that might be good just for streaming and emails. It's HP I think. Only has Chrome but it does have 2 ports and earphones attached. The new macs you have to buy this and buy that. I figured I won't be able to connect my phone to the new one but can connect it to this mac and then transfer by email or whatever. New one would be google based I guess but at least it's up to date and 1/4 of the cost of a new mac. Any major cons anyone can think about to tell me? Thanks

If it has USB ports you should be able to connect a phone to it with the correct cable.
Or by Bluetooth it has that capability..

You should be able get your emails by going to your email provider website & log in.

Thank you Jomar.

Yes, it does have bluetooth capability. This computer I'm using is a Mac Air. It has 2 different usb ports. My daughter's almost new Mac Air has a tiny little port so we had to buy a connector so that she could watch dvds on it as her new mac doesn't have ability to play dvds or cds either. Maddening how they're getting like this. I guess it's to do with size. Making them smaller and smaller. A cd/dvd player takes up room and the new ones are pretty thin.I don't use the cd/dvd player on mine because it scratches them.

Anyway, sorry to ramble. I tried to phone the store but retail is so different now. The store doesn't take calls person to person. You need to actually go there to ask questions.

I'm just a bit wary of using a non apple computer for a few reasons but I'll get daughter to go there and have a look in person. It's so inexpensive and I don't need much these days as long as I can do documents and sign and have good streaming. I'm not too happy using Chrome only either. It is google based so I'll have no problem with my own email.

I'll see what daughter finds out. It might be too out of date and that's why it's so inexpensive.

thanks again.
