I do not know how hot my landlord set the hot water. I have Athlete's foot and am trying to cure it with Fungicure. When I wash my socks, how much "Tide with Bleach" or its equivalent should I add to achieve disinfection? To reiterate, I do not know how hot the "hot" water is.

You could try tea tree oil in the wash and on the skin. Just make sure you dilute it first as it's more potent than people sometimes think. For the wash you could mix it with water in a spray bottle and soak the socks overnight.
You can buy a 'canestan hygiene laundry rinse' on supermarket shelves here in Australia. I'm not sure that bleach kills anything too much. I don't know about 'tide with bleach' but others from the US may have some idea. |

I would make sure to double rinse any detergent residue out.
Usually whatever the Hot setting is on the washing machine is what to use.. exact temp doesn’t matter unless items might shrink too much.. Or directions say no hot wash or dry.... Here is some home /self care fixes for athletes foot. As mentioned bleach may not do much for it.. http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/n...t-home-remedy/ http://www.myhomeremedies.com/topic.cgi?topicid=18 Keep feet, socks & shoes dry constant moisture in shoe /foot is the main cause fresh air, sunlight go barefoot or slippers at home..

I get Athlete's Foot sometimes.
I have found that (Lara's idea) topical application of dilute tea tree oil to my feet helps. Also (as Jo*mar has suggested) I make sure that my feet are thoroughly dry after a shower. Whenever possible (weather permitting) I wear open sandals when I go out - sunlight on my toes helps I think.

I found this article concerning temperture of washing water:
http://bottomlinehealth.com/laundry-...oenail-fungus/ You know you could soak your socks separately in a deep dish pan of boiling water and detergent. Then when it cools off rinse them in a tub and then put in the wash with the regular clothes. If they are white socks, you can also add some bleach to the hot water soak. http://laundry.about.com/od/laundryb...ootlaundry.htm
