Unhappy Need Some Advice...Tramadol Headache?

I just finished my 3rd day of IVSM yesterday. Well, last evening my stomach was hurting pretty bad. They told me I could take some Tramadol for pain. I've never taken it before as I am not a big medicine taker and tend to react to a lot of meds. But, I took it because I hurt enough that I could move and couldn't breathe well because of the pain. I woke up this morning around 5 with a severe headache that just won't quit. It gets worse when I lay down. I did take a shower and that helped some. Anyhow, Since I just finished the IVSM I don't think I can take ibuprofen and I don't know about Tylenol either. So, I thought I'd come on here and ask for some suggestions and advice.

First of all, have any of you experienced a bad headache after taking Tramadol? And if so, what did you take to help relieve it.

And, can you take ibuprofen after doing your IVSM or would Tylenol be better?

Ive had IVSM 3 times and was never told I couldnt take ibuprofen or tylenol. You could call your pharmacist and ask him. They would know. I took Ibuprofen. Ive never had tramadol so cant say anything about that. Hope you get to feeling better.

Thanks, Kelly! I've never taken Tramadol before either and don't plan on taking it again. I'll call the pharmacy when they open up.

Default Any headache med can cause a back up and horrible headaches and nausea

Anything you take for pain can cause nausea and headache and constipation. That is why I take so little.

If you already have a headache from Tramadol then If it were me, I would lie in a darkened room with ice in a washrag (around your neck and on your head) and soft to none music. I would not want to add more meds unless it was bad enough to take more.

Then I would call my prescribing doctor, who knows you. He should have an oncall number. Or a service to answer to get him. Or go to the emergency room with the prescription bottles of things you take now and tell them about the procedure you had.

I have had these headaches for 20 years and I am so sorry you are stuck with one. I am sensitive to meds as well.
