I have an appt. scheduled with her at the end of July, in KS City. She is an MS Specialist; there are none closer than that; it's about a 3- hour drive. We've been happy with our neurologist, who is known in this area as being knowledgable about MS. But, have decided that a specialist might be a good idea, given my MS hx. My neurologist is supportive of me seeing her. Anyone with any experience with her? ~ Faith

It doesn't seem like anyone knows anything on a personal level about her, so I did a little google search and she looks impressive on paper:
http://www2.kumc.edu/neurology/Bio%20Sketch/lynch.pdf I hope she is the one for you! Please let us know how your appt goes.

My husband sees Dr. Lynch at KU Med Center. She is the best, but we found that we do have to sit and wait to be seen by her. My husband is suppose to be in a research study group that she recommended at our last appointment. Our first appointment was cancelled and we had already been on the road 45 minutes. We too live 3 hrs away from KU. Then just got a voicemail message that this study group wants to reschedule this appointment too. I hope that you really like her. Best of Luck!

Sounds like she is way too busy to give close personal attention to patients.

wonderful Doctor......well worth a little wait. When she is not available she has a great assistant to help you with your questions. The key with MS is getting good care and timely help. You will like this doctor. Read some of the articles about her. Wish you well

It's been 4 years since I posted on this thread, so I'd just like to add my current opinion.
Dr. Sharon Lynch is wonderful! Yes; she is busy. I've sometimes had to wait an hour or longer for a scheduled appointment. But, she is NOT too busy to spend time with her patients. That is likely why she sometimes runs late. She always takes time to answer whatever questions I have. Either about my own MS. Or, about current research in the field. Or whatever. Her memory is impeccable! During the first appointment, although she only received my many, many past records a day or two prior to the appointment, she knew ALL about me and my case, my many MRI's, my initial probably dx at Mayo Clinic, my eventual MS dx at my Wichita neurologist's office, etc. She was thorough. When she questioned my neurologist's MS dx, and wondered whether Mayo Clinic's initial suspicion of CNS Lupus might have been correct, she re-did some tests, and was able to confirm that I have MS. Dr. Lynch is also very wiling to work with other doctors. Since I live 3 hours away, some of my things are done more locally, with either my PCP (primary care provider), or my former neurologist. Or, she is also willing to do things, like call in rx, over the phone. Whichever I prefer. I've utilized both methods. Her nurse (Sharon Garcia) is also awesome. In my experience, she was not good at returning phone calls in a timely manner. For the last couple of years, however, I email her instead. And, she often responds in less than half a day, even for non-emergency kinds of things. I would highly recommend Dr. Lynch. ~ Faith
