Help!! What on earth does this mean! I went to my pain specialist today concerning pain in my feet and he looked at both legs and feet and asked why one leg was a different colour to the other (i had noticed this for a while) and why was one so cold and the other so warm. With a special gadget he determined that one leg was ten degrees warmer than the other. One was 34 degrees the other 24 degrees. I have had three knee replacements in last two years and was wondering if the tourniquet which is put in place for over an hr during surgery so that the surgeon can work in a bloodless field, could have caused nerve damage?? 10 degrees is quite a lot i thought, but as to an answer he didn't know and i am none the wiser! Does anyone out there know anything about this>?? I also have PD, and in 96 had a pituitary tumour removed afte dx of acromegaly. I see my neuro tomorrow. If anyone has any ideas, they will be gratefully received. Thank you

Sounds like you have been thru alot.
The RSD forum here has some information about "cold" limbs which may occur when RSD is present. Here is their forum: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/fo...aysprune=&f=21 Were your cold areas below the knee? Or the whole leg? Nerve damage can affect blood flow, but other things too will do it. Peripheral artery disease, is one. This is more common in smokers, but can occur in anyone. Your doctor would have to refer you to testing we call doppler in US, to see if that is your problem. Vasculitis, which is an inflammation of the arteries also can affect blood flow. Sometimes just taking high dose antioxidants may help. Vit C 500mg and grapeseed extract 300mg are the ones most likely to help with inflammation. Also fish oil may help.
