Has anyone tried Neprinol? The following two websites relate to reccommendations for the drug and for the drug itself. It seem to be obtainable OTC.

Neprinol is a combo of serrapepetase and CoQ-10...and other things:
Quote:
So here is the serrapepetase article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serrapeptase It also appears that one must use only enteric coated version, as this enzyme is destroyed in the stomach. It is very expensive as well. There are 3 pages on PubMed about it. That is not very many. There is a paper claiming successful absorption orally in the rat. There are papers that it can cause pneumonitis. There are papers that topical or injected form works in some cases. (gum disease). Tony, for someone like you...with great need, I can see you'd be interested. I don't know anyone who has seen improvements with this. But if you do decide to try it... keep up informed. It has this "too good to be true" quality about it. If it were so good, we'd hear more about it. Most of the papers go back to mid 1980's. Most of the newest ones are dental and topical application for infected jaws etc. I guess the real question is how good it is orally, and if it gets to the sites that need it that way in good concentrations, and that it does not harm normal tissues. I don't see many papers on those factors.

Mrs D - Thank you very much for your info and yes I do understand it's likely limitations. As you say we would have heard more about it if it was a substantial help to PN sufferers. On the other hand one never knows!! It may help some and not others. Due to the problems with my arteries I will ask my consultant if he agrees to me taking them when I see him on Monday next.
If I do try them I will of course post the results here. Sue - Thank you for your concerns re my gallstones. They still give me trouble on a regular but not too severe basis. Due to my other problems I am very reluctant to have surgery unless I have no option. My feet pains are through the roof these days and I am finding day to day life very difficult that's why I am willing to try anything!! I do hope you are feeling better and are having less problems. Thank you both again Tony |

I would certainly like to know more about this. But as you say, if it's that wonderful why aren't we hearing more about it? Also, one link I went to after googling claimed it got rid of arthritis and heart disease in 6 months. They lost me right there.

As far as getting rid of arthritis in 6. months, a few years earlier, my husband was completely incapacited and the specialist wanted to put him on Methotrexate which only could treat symptoms, not cure. His sed rate was out of sight. He has trouble with Rx drugs, even over the counter drugs, so did not take it. Nutritional suppliments plus diet changes brought his sed rate to normal in just 2 months...arthritis gone! Most doctors are not familiar with nuitritionals and it is human nature to be down on what you are not up on. AMA requires doctors to practice alapathic medicine. That is why we don't hear about the many alternative or complementary which may work very well. |
