I am seriously considering trying palmitoylethanolamide (often referred to as PEA). I know it is now much more readily available in the U.S. whereas in the past it often had to be imported from the Netherlands & other countries.
Has anyone had experience with PEA? Was it helpful (in what way?), made little or no difference, or had adverse side effects? How many milligrams did you take for the loading dose? How long did you take the loading dose before you began to feel its effects and were able to reduce the number of capsules? Perhaps, most importantly, what brand did you find most reliable and that worked best for you? Good customer service? There does seem to be a wide variance in prices. Any insight you can give me would be most appreciated. Thank you!! Brightcloud |

I actually have the LifeExtension Comfortmax and one is to be taken AM and one PM and both tablets contain 600mg PEA. I have not started to use it YET, as I'm taking another product and believe I want to finish it up before I start the PEA. The directions say that the nighttime tab (blue) can cause mild sedation and as it is I take a sleep combo to sleep good. I'll post if and when I start with it.

caroline2,
Thanks for your reply. I did look up Comfortmax. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to take the nighttime tablet as it contains calcium (calcium is contra-indicated with a supplement that I take at night). Do hope that Comfortmax will be able to help you! Brightcloud |

Which brand are you looking into. There is such a small amount of calcium in the LifeExtension product.

caroline2,
I am taking strontium citrate for help with bone density. It must be taken on empty stomach and no calcium within past 2-3 hours. Am looking into brands such as Vitalitus, peaCURE, Mirica (non-micronized, has PEA + luteolin), Nootropics (available on Amazon), and Lake Avenue Nutrition (an i-herb exclusive brand, however it seems to have several fillers). Difficult to know which is best. Major cost differences, but don't want to decide by cost alone. Cheapest could be poor quality. |

Hi again, I've taken strontium capsules/tabs on and off over the years and I now have a little left in a jar of Advanced Series AOR and the directions are 1-2 caps daily, 2 hrs before or after food, dairy, calcium, on empty stomach....so I'm going to finish the jar I have now. This company also says one must have adequate calcium and D in their bodies for this to work properly. I notice that some Strontium products contain D and Calcium in the tablet so that goes against the one I'm using.
I'll be buying more and maybe will alternate 1 cap and some days 2 caps. I like capsules best. I feel I'm getting strong bones from the magnesium I take thru the day. |
