I wonder about the snow too, because we don't get snow here where I live. Everyone I know who lives in snow country always wonders when it will end. First snow I ever saw in my entire life was in 1998. I am sorry to say that it was a truly magical and enlightening experience. |

I wonder if this book about Carl Jung will help me bury some ghosts and embrace others.

I wonder if the book is about Carl Jung or written by Carl Jung? I actually have one here _about_ him and it was pretty helpful to me at the time to understand certain things.
I wonder that we don't always need books to "bury some ghosts and embrace others." We just need each other. I wonder if you know I try to stay away from Freud and Durkeim but to me Jung is OK. Not that it means anything to anyone else probably. Just my humble opinion. Last edited by Lara; 03-10-2009 at 09:23 AM. Reason: couldn't sleep for thinking lol |

moose,
I can feel you about ghosts, I let them haunt me too.... but I let the ghost busters out and one by one, they are getting less and less... I think it started with over a million, I am down to 499,999. So hey, only half a million more ghosts to catch... I hope you get to enjoy Jung. I think Jung is a bit too analytical for my approach. don't get me wrong. Analytical is good. But I think if we analyze everything until there isn't to be analyzed anymore, then....what?? You are a brilliant guy and most brilliant folks are very analytical. That's great. Sometimes though, ghosts cannot be analyzed but simply destroyed... like Alexander the Greats approach. You get a tangled bunch of ropes. You just take a sword and cut it instead of trying to detangle each rope... not preaching just my own approach and would actually love to hear your view after you've read the book... always learning and experiencing...and very happy to see you posting. ~~~~~~~~~~ I like what Doc said about the fragility of human relationships. When we love the most, it is when we hate the most. I see that a lot. I guess when one loves a person so much that when something goes sour, that hatred is just as strong as the love... just making a general statement here following that thought...not directing that at anyone here. *edited to say, it was Alexander the GRAPE. He said that when you have a bunch of grapevines tangled up, take a sword to it and make wine... ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I wonder at Spring....if it will bring us all some new life to look forward to... ((((hugs for the broom)))))

It's Jung. A Graphic Guide. Published by "Introducing Books" company. I had to order the book about Jung I was looking for as they didn't have it.
Maybe I was too poetic and melancholy with the ghosts reference. Just trying to get back some my old habits. The GOOD ones, like reading. *The last book I bought was a year ago. It's a dictionary and I haven't finished it yet. Now those of you that have already read it don't ruin it for me! Hope it has a happy ending. HA! I'm a huge fan of the band Tool. And their fansite is 'The Collective Unconcious'. Trying to get a better understanding of the influence Jung has and of myself too. Already knew about the Myers-Briggs Personality test that is based on Jung's work. Both times I took it the computer said I was a jerk. HA! It's my understanding that Jung and Freud were best of friends before they had a falling out. Freud is mentioned in the book I'm reading and it seems he liked tying things to a sexual root. Or problems with our parents. I'll read one of his books when I'm done with this one.

The collective unconscious? Reminds me of Ayn Rand. |
