I am 7 months post concussion, and have noticed for a long time something strange with my vision that no one can explain to me but let me try and describe it - i'd love to hear if anyone else has this.

I have a pulsing in my head, I can feel my heart beat in my head (this also results in pulsing tinitus in both ears when trying to sleep).

In terms of vision, I can focus fine and get a very sharp picture at all times.... But if I focus on things in the mid to far distance say a sign or something, it feels like I can't hold my focus properly, and the vision is almost pulsing with my heartbeat.

I have also had some kind of motion type disturbance when driving which made me feel very uneasy in the car the other day, it's like when I've been travelling for a while my body doesn't want to stop travelling and feels like it should be moving. The same happened when I tried to run on a treadmill the other day.

I have just started back at work after 7 months off, and my headaches aren't too bad at the moment however I am getting pain in only what I could describe as my eye balls.

I can see fine when using the computer and no issues reading books for hours (all be it not on a screen!), however I have this pain in my eyes when using a computer.

Some mentioned in a previous post of mine I should see a neuro-ophalmologist but do I really have any symptoms that are worth pursuing one for? It would be very tricky and a long wait to get a referral on our public health service, and paying for one myself could be very costly indeed.

If I do need to see one, would there be a basic series of tests they can do to rule it out as an issue for me? And if there was an issue would I have to have lots of follow ups? If it is just a one or two session thing I think I could stomach paying for it.

Some of what you mention could be from c1, c2 misalignment, vertebral artery, trigger points, and/or muscle spasms.

Do you have any neck/shoulder tightness or pain?
If so some good PT might help with some of the soft tissue issues.

Don't think there is much wrong with my neck as I've had a chiropractor and an osteopath check it out many times.

No pain in my neck, I occasionally get shoulder pain but that's an old injury!

Did chiro check c1,c2 - the upper cervical, it is mainly a specialist "add on" to regular chiropractic.

Do chiro & osteo do " hands on" palpation, that's the best way to really locate possible soft tissue TrPs/spasms.

But it could be due to something occurring in the brain also...

I agree with Jomar --it could be c1-c2 like a pinched nerve. Also thyroid or even high blood pressure. I started out with a throb like a heartbeat in my eyes --then maybe a month later it went into eye twiches that last for months --I went to eye Dr --said i was ok if its goes beyond 9 months we were going to inject botox. I had previous neck fusion and have high blood pressure and thyroid too. I went to all my doc to have blood test thryoid level was ok but im on medicine for it--- blood pressure was controlled. I posted on here when it was happening and Mrs D suggested to try magnesium supplements---took a few weeks then my symptoms went away.

I am now 7 months into my pcs/ptsd. It would make sense that you can feel the changes in heart rate/blood pressure flow when taxing your eyes.

Your vision issue may be related to eye tracking in motion.

There was a quick, first test that alerted a vision issue during my neuro-psych. evaluation.

The neuro-psychiatrist held a pen about 8 inches from my nose. He then moved it directionally toward my right and then left shoulder. He asked me to track it with my eyes. I dried heaved and this triggered a panic attack.

I think investing in a neuro-opthalmology appointment or vision efficiency exam is money well spent.

There is a website that has referrals (help! I cannot remember it.lol) and sometimes prism glasses and vision therapy help.

My own vision therapy has stagnated; I think it is just taking time to rebuild the pathways.
