Default Nausea, trembling in arms and fingers

Hello,

Back again as something is going on

As some members know I was rear ended by 2 vehicles in the Spring, have had a lot of neuro problems etc...over the past month or so suddenly I feel "weird" in my head, something feels very wrong but it's so difficult to explain, everything feels so surreal, I know where I am but have to sit down and feel as though I'm just staring for about 3 minutes, my brain just doesn't feel right.

Yesterday my neck and back were in terrible pain all day, the pain is always there but some days they really flare up. Suddenly last night here comes that strange feeling in my brain, it just feels as though something is terribly wrong, surreal..I managed to walk shakily to my husband to tell him to call someone for help it was that bad, I felt so sick in my stomach and clammy on my forehead.

I 1/2 laid down and stayed that way for about 2-3 minutes or so, then my both arms and all my fingers started to tremble but inside, on the outside they were just shaking a little but to me they were trembling a lot.

The trembling lasted about a minute and a half, went from my arms then only in a few fingers, afterwards I felt a little off and scared for 30 minutes.

Is anyone familiar with any of this?

Have a neuro appt for the New Year but should I go back to my Dr. on Monday? My husband wants me to go to the ER.

Thank you

I think the ER will not be much help. You need to find a successful treatment for your neck. With it such a mess, everything else will be hard to diagnose and treat. Have you been seen by a Physiatrist (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) ? The trembles could be a symptoms all their own or they could be from the anxiety for being in pain. Nobody can say.

I hope you fell better.

My best to you.

Was hoping you'd reply Mark, thank you as always.

I did end up going to the ER as I was so scared it would happen again, you are right, they couldn't help, didn't know what happened and said to go to a neurologist which I am doing in the New Year.

The ER did do a scan but it showed everything was normal which I thought it would do from reading posts on here.

So hoping the neurologist can figure all this out, thanks so much again.

Was it a CT Scan ?

CT Scans need to be avoided unless indicated by a neuro exam.
http://www.kevinmd.com/blog/2013/08/...imit-risk.html says
"CTs use x-rays to peer through your body, the same x-rays that are used to make plain x-ray pictures. But with a CT, a whole series of x-rays are taken one after another in little “slices.” Then a computer algorithm stitches those plain films together to get the familiar CT pictures of your insides. A single CT scan exposes the body to as much radiation as 200-1000 plain x-ray films — the bigger the body part, the more net radiation is needed."

I doubt your neuro will find anything that could cause the trembling. A couple days of clonazepam (Klonopin, a dreaded benzo) may stop them. It would be a good indicator that they are anxiety caused.

I know how disturbing the trembles can be. I have had many different tremble experiences. It got so I would have an episode and we would laugh at it as we watch the movement. I would also get a spasming thumb that would lock as it pointed toward my little finger.

Anxiety can manifest in many weird ways. Learning to not react to these manifestations helps to lower anxiety levels. There is the conscio0us anxiety and for many of us we experience sub-conscious anxiety. We are not thinking about anything that could be considered anxious but our body reacts as though we are. The experience can be very upsetting. Knowing that it is just a malfunction of the anxiety system often can help. Learning to recognize the triggers and other signs of anxiety can help to reduce the frequency and intensity of these events.

Believe me. I know how upsetting they can be. I lived with extreme anxiety from Aug 8, 2013 to mid November when the doc put me on meds. It was beyond upsetting. It was scary.

Don't expect to find answers from the neuro. You may but I doubt it. It will likely be up to you to find a solution, if there even is one.

Are you taking the vitamin regimen ? The B-12, D3 and maybe even L-Tryptophan and L-Theanine all help the brain tolerate stress. They are not over-night fixes. It takes a few weeks to see a real sustainable difference.

I hope this helps. My best to you.

Mark, thank you, yes it was a CT scan but the Dr. said I needed an MRI, who knows...

It is very scary, you might be on to something with the anxiety, all that day my neck and back were killing me, had to take a percocet which I hardly do.

That particular night I had been on the computer for 2 hours, hunched over, in agony I might say, dumb thing to do.

My general Dr. is sending me to the neurologist as I have other lingering symptoms, honestly I hate all of this, I just want to be 100% again and not feel "slow" in the head so to speak, I have actually sat and cried as my neck and back always hurt but when they flare up the pain is extreme.

Someone on the phone can ask me my phone number, my address and SS number and I blank out, nothing there, then at other times I can blurt it all out, no problem.

I often feel something is so wrong with my brain, people say I stare in to space for a few minutes, seem "off", I even forget someone is sitting there, in the car I sometimes drift off somewhere and suddenly realize I'm in the car, hard to explain but I think you'll understand what I'm trying to say!

Yes, a while ago I read your post about Vitamins and do take B 12, B complex, Vit D3 etc.

Thank you again for your help and advice, greatly appreciated.
