has this happened to anyone else or should I be in another chat room lol. It was caused by head injury and doctors can't seem to find the reason. All tests have come back negative except for one test that shows some damage to cerebellum. Anyone take any medicine for this. It starts my day and a terrible way and I just can't get started afterwards I'm afraid to fall asleep

Every single night as I'm almost asleep I get a weird feeling, hard to describe but it feels like the inside of my body is shaking, I suddenly feel really scared and the only way to stop it is to get out of bed and walk around.
Got a message from another poster who experiences the same thing and a Dr told her it was from the brain being injured, like a surge of adrenalin. I can find no answer though to what's happening, it never happens during the day, always at night and usually when I'm drifting off to sleep. I too dread going to sleep, I know that doesn't help but it's hard so I try to really relax, take a bath etc. nothing is stopping it. Interesting you have it also but when coming out of sleep. |

I hope you get an answer on Tuesday and yes please! let us know.
Have you injured your neck at all? I had severe whiplash and have a herniated disc at C7-T1. If your neck is bothering you definitely let the Dr know. This is terrifying I know, at night I can read in bed just fine, it's when I'm just about to fall asleep, I start shaking inside all over, you can't control it and I can also sometimes see my body shaking. What stops yours? When you start walking does it subside? I'm also having some kind of "spells" going on, one Dr thought some kind of seizure, another maybe complex migraines as they are very similar but my brain shifts sometimes and I feel like I'm in a dream, everything slows down for a few mins and as my daughter told me I stare like a deer in headlights, very scary too. Are you having anything else going on? hope you're okay today. Hockey: thank you for the info, been trying to research this and can't find anything other than the other person saying it's a brain injury. Mark: I just read your heading again and it says head tremors which I hadn't seen so I didn't mention I also get those, my head/brain feels like it's moving, hard to explain but it's inside and lately my head twitches to one side, like a hard tick. |

I'm so sorry you've been suffering a long time, shoot...my accident was early last year and I have said I can't live like this then I try to think positive but at times it's difficult, so I completely understand.
Have you ever seen a neurologist or any other specialist? I think you really need to be seen, there's obviously at least a few things going on, maybe some are connected to each other. My old Dr was ridiculous, I kept saying I was in horrendous pain and was told it all takes time then things got even worse so it's so frustrating. I get pain/tingling/burning in my left arm and 2 fingers and that's coming from the cervical herniated disc, neck problems can also cause shoulder pain. Yes, I'd definitely talk to your new Dr. let him/her know everything that's going on, I have to write it all down as I forget ![]() I hope you can have some kind of relief over the holiday weekend, I read every single night in bed, stay very calm, try to drift off to sleep and wham! those tremors!!! I hear you on all of it. Take care of yourself and if you can, please let us know how the appt goes, good luck and hang in there, you're not alone. |

Mark: Shoot on down to the Posttraumatic Stress disorder forum and look at the post by Pepper, "Is this PTSD"
They are talking about these weird feelings we get, either falling asleep or waking up. |

Do those of you experiencing full body shudders also have an exaggerated startle response? Those two often go together in TBI patients.
