Default Nux Vomica

saw a naturopath. was told to take 4-5 pallets of Nux Vomica a day for my concusion. I have never felt my head hurt so much after taking it for the first time. Not sure if I should continue. Anyone knows anything about this homeopathic medicine?

I'm surprised it had that kind of effect..

Did they explain what symptoms it was for, any other remedies given? In the past (many years ago) when I took my sons , they always gave a few remedies.
Theirs was for allergies & food sensitivities.

Did they explain how to take it?
I'm assuming it is the very small pellets that you place under the tongue?

Usually the dosage is x amount of pellets many times a day.

Taken approx 30 minutes before or after any food or drink. Anything other than water will affect absorption..

After reading the link by Lara, I'm curious if your dose was an actual homeopathic remedy or a Nox V supplement of some sort?

The brand/ amount / measurement /strength on the container should clarify.

My homeopathic kit has Nux V @ 30c potency.
They are pellet form, dissolved in the mouth, usually under the tongue.

The naturopath said that it was for my concussion and that was it. Yes they are small pallets that are supposed to be dissolved under the tongue. 4-5 pallets(200c)once a day. I was given the pallets without its original bottle... to think that I spent $200 on the consultation...f$$#%

I would never take anything that was not provided in the original container with the specs on it. If you have an allergic reaction, there is no way to tell medical help what you took. Nux Vomica is a homeopathic dilution of strychnine. The common dilutions of Nux Vomica (30c and 30x) are such that it would required large quantities to have a chance of any of the active ingredient being ingested.

And you thought neuros are clueless about concussions. Naturopaths are no better.

The naturopath I took my boys to explained much of it to me, plus I had been reading about naturopathy and homeopathy before making the appt.

It must be the difference in practitioners , as usual there's good and not so good..

Usually the first appt is the most expensive as that is when they ask all the questions to hopefully narrow down to the right remedies..

Have you tried another dose to see if it does the same thing?
Maybe take fewer pellets the next time?

I believe the practitioners buy in bulk and re bottle into smaller containers.

You could also call and tell them what occurred, just so they are aware. Ask if that is normal.
But I really don't think it is, there is such a minute amount of the original ingredient. but it could have been contaminated or mislabeled.
Or he may have bought a bad batch of remedies.
