Hey guys
Been a VERY long time since I posted. I've been doing so well it has been 2 years since my last concussion and I have also got used to small bumps/jolts and had almost no issues for over a year! I quit BJJ 2 years ago and am now doing Latin/Ballroom dance. I'm a bit disappointed though. I've been taking dance quite seriously and we have a competition coming up. Last night while we were practicing during a private session, our dance teacher (who is amazing) sort of slapped the side of my head with the base of the hand where the thumb muscle is. I have a tendancy to tilt to the right and we NEED perfect posture and quite often our dance teacher will grab your head to put it in place. I have no problems with that but last night he punted my head because it is leaning. It made my teeth chatter a little or something. I went home and slept really early and today just feel slightly off. I was really anxious and scared so am not sure if it is an anxiety response because I've been very good at not worrying about knocks but this one felt a lot harder. Im going to mention to my dance teacher not to touch my head like that from now on but I am so upset that I may have a concussion from this. I don't think it was the hardest hit it just felt slightly harder than a friendly smack on side of the head. |

Hi Dean - Could you remind us of your history?
One thing to note generally is: > While the brain has to be exposed to 70-120 G to experience a concussion injury, whiplash injuries to the neck occur at only 4.5 G Previous concussions do not change this fact as far as I know, although they can make symptoms and damage worse |
