I'm very disappointed that iherb just had this new magnesium formula in the form of flakes that could dissolve in water. But they, just ran out, and it said they would have more in on wednesday may 9th but then stopped.

There are many posts on the web that claim it is no better than other forms of absorbable magnesium. You can google that and find them easily... I used the key phrase, does magnesium threonate really work You can try it, however and come back and tell us about it. Here is a rat only study: http://blog.lef.org/2012/01/brain-he...threonate.html only about 60% of rat studies pertain to human response however. I am getting great responses myself to magnesium lotion containing magnesium sulfate, and continue to use it. It helps me sleep, and takes the swelling down in my surgical foot. (old surgical scar and damage).

I think the CVS brand version is not that great IMO. I generally don't like CVS brand lotions anyways. And I try to use Eucerin for dry skin.

I've completely lost all track of what you are trying to accomplish. The CVS Epsom lotion is an alternative for oral use of supplements. People low in magnesium, have certain problems, like poor circulation, muscle tension, cramping. Peripheral Neuropathy which needs reduction of NMDA pain receptors. Magnesium is helpful for some ADHD problems as well. But most of the HUNDREDS of actions of magnesium in the body's chemistry is silent. Those of us on PN who use the topical form of magnesium do not use it for dry skin. We use it for the absorption of the magnesium. It does help to some extent however I've found for emollient use. It was formulated as a massage lotion which I read somewhere to soothe stiffness etc.
